Description:

Made entirely from spring 2002 material, this Banna wetter stored tea cake sports a smooth aged taste with a floral / camphor aroma. The tea was stone pressed by traditional method and stored in hot and humid Jing Hong until 2011 when it was brought to Kunming. Nice wetter stored tea with aged feel and taste!

Wet storage

5 stars 5.0 This review helped: +1 / 0

The smell is really full-bodied, earthy with a light fruity flavor. The taste is surprisingly balanced. Considering the wet storage, the taste is pleasantly balanced and uplifting. There is a nice connection of earth and heaven :-) Definitely worth trying. I am personally considering purchase of a whole cake. The price is not so high, taking in account age: sample 25g - $8, cake 380g - $53

Ancient Spirit

Very good, already quite matured tea. You can taste wet storage, but only during the first infusion. The infusion is beautifully full, fruity aroma is intense, mixing with mellow - earthiness. The tea is really very nice. I bought the whole cake after sample. It is definitely worth trying.

Quotes - Pu-erh

„chui niu; 吹牛. 吹 - chui, to blow. 牛 - niu, cow, but in this case can be read as 公牛 or bull. An almost default aspect of tea drinking - 'shooting the bull'. The talk that often accompanies tea drinking and can be peppered with much knowledge, a little exaggeration and some humour. Also 吹牛皮. 皮 - skin or hide. 'Blowing the bulls hide.'“

Quotes

„The terms "Xiao shu" (small tree) and "tai di" (terrace plantation) are often interchangeably used, but they should be given separate meanings. "Tai di" connotes high intensity farming, with the entire slope cleared & terraced to plant hedgerows & use of pesticide & fertilizer. But in many gu shu growing villages, there are also new tea plantations which are too young to be called gu shu (ie. less than 100 years old), but they aren't exactly "tai di" either. Many of these plants are growing next to old trees, in a bio-diverse forest clearing, with lots of space around them, not all are sprayed & fertilized. In the future, they will grow into "gu shu", until then we should call them "shen tai xiao shu" (naturally grown small trees)“
