Description:

rich and delicate bulang bitter taste with sweetish aftertaste, sweet tingling almost in the throat, after the third cup of this tea have one cup of warm water and at once you will understand what is this tea about

this spring hand-pressing of pu-erh cakes was done in a very skilled manufacture in Yiwu, is more tight than previous years, there is more work for me when taking apart the tea leaves for samples, but for long term storage the tight pressing will allow keep longer the aromas, the tea leaves won't dry that much, during this tighter pressing the man standing on the stone press needs twice as much time to have the leaves trample down

The tea was part of Sheng 2013 Blind Tasting Set

Dry leaves smell fresh again. The sample was nicely broken off. Wet leaves are again pretty sweet, floral scent. The first infusion has a slightly bitter taste, but there is a strong bitterness in the aftertaste. The second infusion is such a rough, full of bitterness, sweetness in aftertaste, which then turns into wild bitterness on the tongue. I guess it is Bulang. According to the note from the seller, he recommends to take a sip of warm water after tea. It is an interesting effect. Water is totally sweet. The bitterness is fading away with further infusions.

Quotes - Pu-erh

„Fermentation is a tea production style in which the tea leaves undergo microbial fermentation and oxidation after they are dried and rolled. This process is a Chinese specialty and produces tea known as Hei Cha (黑茶), commonly translated to dark, or black tea (this type of tea is completely different from what in West is known as "black tea", which in China is called "red tea"). “
